I have a fascination with physical work ethic. Growing up in a blue-collar family in Minnesota physical labor and construction reminds me of home. The act of painting is an activity that parallels construction and building, organizing raw materials and applying them to create something that is functional. This series of painting function is to equip the viewer with the role of developer, the people in the paintings function to facilitate the space and to be markers of progress and change. As the developer, the paintings serve you with a number of possibilities and ambiguities to what the paintings are about and what the workers are building or signifying.
